ASCIIDENT PC Game Description

ASCIIDENT is an open-world sci-fi game made entirely of text characters. The game’s story is based on the sci-fi novel “Frango Anomaly”. Hero is a human clone who escaped from space pirates. The first place was the asteroid FA-17, colonized a few millennia ago. The excavation of the crystals is still ongoing, but the price of the crystals is currently falling. The asteroid would have been abandoned long ago if it weren’t for the transit base. However, entire areas of the asteroid have already been left behind. Here life moves at its own pace and according to its own rules. The game features a large number of neutral and hostile creatures. Neutral characters can provide information, upgrade skills, and craft stuff. Beware, some neutral characters can become enemies.

All graphics in the game are made using typed characters on the keyboard. To be more precise, characters from the ASCII table to the 32nd to 126th letters are used. The lessons in the game are localized in many languages and may contain characters rather than from the standard range. However, these characters are not involved in design. Graphics are ASCII only. Spaceport’s “Asteroid FA-17” is currently under development. It is possible to travel from spaceport to neighboring planets and stations.
